Work, work work!
In early January, I disappear to proofread Adélaïde
which comes out in April at the Château Frontenac in Quebec City, as planned.
My mother. Couldn’t you guess?
We have more in common than just the colour of our jacket…
In between book fairs, I get busy finishing up Florent.
The clouds weren’t always this spectacular, but that’s the view I had when I worked.
We’re so pressed for time that I hand in my corrections in two instalments – part 1 p. 1-400, part 2 p. 400-800.
Born April 26, this is Clovis, my nephew François’ son… the first of many to come.
A most peaceful guest who never distracted me from my proofreading work!
On September 11, 2001, I hand in the proofs for Florent.
However, the events in New York City take away any sense of joy.
And on October 22nd, the trilogy is finished (on time!)

I’m quite proud of myself!
Now I can turn 51 in peace!
Also: La Presse’s People’s Choice Award for Gabrielle at the Salon du livre de Montréal.
And in March, Jean Besré dies in a car accident.
